  2.                  CD-ROM INSTALLATION LATEST INFORMATION
  3.                  ======================================

  5. This file contains information not available  during the  printing  of
  6. the manual.  Please read them before you proceed with any installation 
  7. procedure.

  10. This file contains the following sections:

  17. 1. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
  18.  
  19.    The installation program, INSTALL.EXE will modify  your  CONFIG.SYS
  20.    and AUTOEXEC.BAT files.  The original files  will be renamed with a
  21.    B~K extension.
  22.    
  23.    The procedure for installation is as follows :
  24.    
  25.    a.  Place the CD-ROM Installation Disk into the disk drive.
  26.  
  27.    b.  Run the program INSTALL.EXE on the disk.
  28.    
  29.    c.  Select "Begin Installation" and  follow the instructions on the
  30.        screen.
  31.    
  32.    d.  Quit the installation program when it completes successfully.
  33.    
  34.    e.  REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM.

  37. 2. LOCK/UNLOCK UTILITY
  38.  
  39.    The new Creative CD-ROM drive has a software lock/unlock feature.
  40.    The lock function allows you to disable the  "EJECT" button while
  41.    the unlock function enables it.  By locking the CD-ROM  drive, you
  42.    can prevent accidental ejection of the CD.
  43.  
  44.    The LOCKCD and UNLOCKCD utilities are provided for this purpose.

  46.         LOCKCD.EXE     - use for locking the CD-ROM drive
  47.         UNLOCKCD.EXE   - use for unlocking the CD-ROM drive

  50.    i)   LOCKING THE CD-ROM DRIVE
  51.  
  52.         Usage: LOCKCD d1: [d2: d3: ... ]
  53.  
  54.         Type LOCKCD  followed by the name of the  CD-ROM  drive to  be
  55.         locked.  More than one drive can be locked at the same time by
  56.         typing  LOCKCD,  followed  by the  drive  names, with  a space
  57.         separating each drive name.

  59.         Example: To lock drives D, E and F, type LOCKCD D: E: F:
  60.  
  61.         Type LOCKCD /? at the DOS prompt for a brief on-line usage
  62.         description.

  64.    ii)  UNLOCKING THE CD-ROM DRIVE

  66.         Usage: UNLOCKCD d1: [d2: d3: ... ]

  68.         Type UNLOCKCD  followed by the name of the CD-ROM  drive to be
  69.         un-locked.  More than  one drive can be  unlocked at the  same

  81.    Note : If you cannot find the following errors in your manual,
  82.           please ignore this section.
